One year ago, we pushed the doorway of traditional luxury wide open to introduce the Infiniti brand to the European market.

Today we bring you the latest expression of Infiniti Inspired Performance – the new G37 Convertible.
This car looks as good with its top up as it does down.  A three-piece “clamshell” retractable hardtop allows for a shorter rear overhang and low trunk lid. 
With its 320-horsepower 3.7-litre V6, this beauty also delivers an invigorating driving experience.  The G37 Convertible is among the most powerful in its class.

European sales will begin from September.

The Infiniti brand will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year.  It was born in 1989 and sales began in the United Status.  Infiniti has since grown to become a global luxury brand with more than 230 dealers in 15 countries.  Starting with one four-door sedan, the brand now has a varied lineup that includes a coupe, a convertible and crossovers.  And we will expand the range even further.
 
As a celebration of Infiniti and its 20-year history, today we introduce Essence, which is also an exploration into the brand’s future.
The Infiniti brand has several design key values to express distinctive characters, such as Energetic Force, Seductive Luster and Spiritual Precision.
A flowing “wave” profile… the razor-sharp line in the upper body… the rear section concave “scoops” – these are all expressions of these characters.  They can be seen in Essence and in future Infiniti models as well.
All of Infiniti’s existing design elements are enhanced with fresh design language. You can find the evolution in the Infiniti’s signature grille, head lamps and C-pillar.  The car is highly sculptural yet delicate… muscular yet graceful.  Once seen, never forgotten.

Essence’s interior promotes a sense of well-being, which is key to the Infiniti driving experience.  The interior is minimalist – we call this “hidden tech” – ergonomic and totally focused on the job in hand, giving a feeling of absolute control.

Essence is fitted with Infiniti’s unique hybrid system.  A slim, electric motor with twice the torque of a conventional unit and two clutches are teamed with a 3.7-litre, turbocharged V6 petrol engine. Together they give strong performance while meeting environmental concerns for our next generation of luxury car.

Years ago, truly luxurious cars had their own custom-designed luggage.  Essence continues this tradition, with luggage specially designed and crafted by one of the best-known names in luxury goods – Louis Vuitton.  Infiniti and Louis Vuitton design teams inspired eachother in the creation.
With this car, we are showing you the essence of Infiniti.  Essence reveals the promise of our future among the world’s most exclusive and vibrant car brands.
